Michal Urbaniak’s Fusion – Atma

Michal Urbaniak’s album Atma is an incredibly great choice if you like jazz fusion, particularly the Eastern European style of it. Urbaniak is one of the best violin and saxophone players of the last century and on this record he created a unique sound by combining traditional Polish music with jazz-rock. If you are looking for a great album from Eastern Europe, this is strong tip.

A particular recommendation is the song Mazurka, which combines jazz with Polish dance rhythms into a magical dynamic. In general, jazz fusion is an exciting genre because especially in the 1970s it was able to combine very different influences into completely novel sounds, and this album is a great case of that.
